This OBD is compatible with over 90% of petrol and diesel cars and SUVs manufactured after 2010 and most BS6 bikes (requires a separate OBD cable adapter)

1. What can the ELM327 scanner do?

The ELM327 reads and clears engine fault codes (Diagnostic Trouble Codes / DTCs) that trigger the Check Engine Light. It also streams real-time engine data including RPM, vehicle speed, coolant temperature, fuel pressure, intake air temperature, throttle position, and other parameters available from your vehicle's ECU.

Note: The ELM327 scans engine systems only — it cannot read Airbag, ABS, Transmission, or any other system-specific fault codes.

2. Which vehicles are compatible?

Compatible with most petrol and diesel Cars, BS6 Bikes and SUVs manufactured after 2010. Not compatible with trucks, buses, or heavy commercial vehicles. If you are unsure whether your specific vehicle is supported, contact us before purchasing.

3. Which app works with this device?

Car Scanner and Torque (Android) work well and is what we generally recommend. OBD Doctor and most standard OBD-II apps are also compatible.

4. How do I connect it to my car?

Plug the ELM327 into your vehicle's OBD-II port, typically located under the dashboard near the driver's seat. For the Bluetooth variant, pair it with your Android device via Bluetooth. For the WiFi variant, connect your phone to the device's WiFi network, then open the app.

5. Can it clear the Check Engine Light?

Yes. The ELM327 clears DTCs from the ECU and resets the Check Engine Light. Note: clearing a fault code removes the warning — it does not fix the underlying problem. If the root cause is not addressed, the fault code and Check Engine Light will return.

6. Are there any subscription charges?

No. The ELM327 is a one-time purchase. The recommended apps have free versions that are sufficient for most users. Some advanced in-app features may require optional purchases from the app developers — this is unrelated to MODAXE.

7. What is the Advanced Chip variant?

The Advanced Chip variant uses an upgraded chip for improved connection stability and faster data response compared to the standard ELM327. Recommended if you plan to use the device regularly or for extended real-time data monitoring sessions.
