FAQs

What is the difference between the Bluetooth, WiFi, and Advanced Chip variants?

The Bluetooth variant connects to Both Android and iOS devices via Bluetooth. The WiFi variant connects to both Android and iOS devices via WiFi. The Advanced Chip variant uses an upgraded chip for improved stability and faster data response compared to the standard Bluetooth version - however it connects to Android only.

Can the WiFi variant connect to an iPhone?

Yes. The standard Bluetooth and WiFi ELM 327s are compatible with iOS devices as well. The Advanced version is not.

Which app works with this device?

Car Scanner and Torque (Android) work well and is what we generally recommend. OBD Doctor and most standard OBD-II apps are also compatible.

Can it read faults beyond the engine — ABS, Airbag, etc.?

No. ELM327-based devices read and clear engine fault codes (Check Engine Light) only. They do not access ABS, Airbag, DPF, or other system modules.

Are the OBD II devices compatible with all models

Our OBD II devices are compatible with more than 90% vehicles manufactured after the year 2010. For specific models, please reach out to us.

What is the difference between the ELM327 and MODAXE OBD?

The ELM327 devices support up to 9 protocols, while the MODAXE OBD supports up to 12 protocols. Additionally, ELM327 devices are compatible only with 12V vehicles, whereas MODAXE OBD supports vehicles up to 24V. MODAXE OBD is much more durable and stable than the ELM327 and has the latest firmware version
