FAQs

What is the difference between the Bluetooth, WiFi, and Advanced Chip variants?

The Bluetooth variant connects to Both Android and iOS devices via Bluetooth. The WiFi variant connects to both Android and iOS devices via WiFi. The Advanced Chip variant uses an upgraded chip for improved stability and faster data response compared to the standard Bluetooth version.

Can the WiFi variant connect to an iPhone?

Yes. The standard Bluetooth and WiFi ELM 327s are compatible with iOS devices as well. The Advanced version is not.

Which app works with this device?

Car Scanner and Torque (Android) work well and is what we generally recommend. OBD Doctor and most standard OBD-II apps are also compatible.

Can it read faults beyond the engine — ABS, Airbag, etc.?

No. ELM327-based devices read and clear engine fault codes (Check Engine Light) only. They cannot access ABS, Airbag, DPF, or other system modules.
